What to Expect
Welcome to Heritage Presbyterian Church! We want you to feel at home during your visit. Here’s a glimpse of what a typical Sunday morning looks like: we start with a warm greeting at the entrance, followed by engaging worship, insightful sermons, and fellowship opportunities. In terms of attire, you will see everything from jeans to dresses to sport coats; wear what makes you comfortable. The important part is for you to join us for a meaningful experience as we grow together in community!

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Wear what makes you comfortable but most people wear nice casual attire (nice jeans, slacks, knit tops, button shirts, comfortable dresses) but rarely will you see anyone in coat and tie.
Where should I park?
Upon arrival you will find both Guest and Handicapped parking in front of the building and on the South Side of the Building. You can enter the building either in the front or through the side door on the south side of the building.
What happens during Worship Service?
As you enter the building, you will be directed to the Sanctuary by one of our Greeters. Please find a comfortable place to sit, as there are no assigned seats. You will receive a hymnal and a Bible to use during the service, which begins at 10:30. After the announcements, we invite you to participate in 'Passing the Peace', a lovely, but optional, opportunity to greet one another with a handshake and offer "Peace of Christ" or "Peace Be With You." The bulletin will serve as your guide throughout the service, helping you navigate the hymns and scripture readings. Please note that items marked with an asterisk (*) indicate moments when you are invited to stand, if you are able. You’ll find hymn names and page numbers, along with Bible passages and their respective page numbers for your convenience. During the service, but after the sermon, collection plates will be passed for offerings. Please know that while guests are not expected to contribute, you are more than welcome to do so if you wish.
Can I take Communion if I am not a member?
Yes! Please join us on the first Sunday of every month for Communion Sunday at Heritage. We warmly invite all Christians, regardless of denomination or membership, to partake in this sacrament. During the service, both regular and gluten-free bread, along with grape juice are presented as the spiritual presence of the body and blood of Christ. Together, we share in this meaningful experience as a congregation after everyone has been served. Learn more about our practices regarding Communion on our About Us/What We Believe page.
Do you offer childcare during Worship Service?
Yes! We have an infant nursery and a separate toddler play room available during the 10:30 - 11:30 Sunday Worship hour. Please allow 5 minutes for check-in. We have a refrigerator for bottles and snacks so your child can have the comforts of home.
When should I arrive?
Worship service starts at 10:30 so you will want to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to have time to park and get situated in the sanctuary. If you are bringing children for Sunday School or nursery care, expect that the check in will take an additional few minutes. Refreshments are served in the Narthex starting at 10:00 AM so you are welcome to have coffee and a snack before service starts.
Where should I go when I arrive?
Our friendly greeters will be there to greet you and provide you with a Bulletin containing our Order of Worship. Members wear nametags, and you're welcome to wear a visitor's name tag too, though it’s completely optional. Join us in the Narthex around 10:00 AM for coffee and light snacks, and feel free to enjoy your refreshments in the Narthex or the nearby Conference Room.
What kind of music and hymns will I hear?
Most Sundays our choir leads us in traditional hymns. You will find the lyrics and music by page number in the order of worship. We sometimes have guest musicians who perform other styles of Christian worship music; during special holidays we also sing contemporary Christian and sometimes secular music to add to the celebration.
Do you offer Sunday School for Children & Adults?
Yes! Sunday School for both Children and Adults begins at 9:00 AM. Your greeter will assist you in finding the right rooms for you and your children. There are additional Adult Bible Studies available during the week.
Who should I talk to if I have questions about the church or how to become a member?
Please see Pastor after Services or call for an appointment. She will be happy to answer your questions and help you take the next steps toward membership, including participating in a 4-part new members class.
