Office Administrator & Accompanist

Cheryl joined Heritage as our interim pastor in September 2024. She also serves as a chaplain in the Memorial Hermann Health System, walking alongside patients and families during the "eleventh hour" of life. She is passionate about the spiritual benefits of journaling and art, and enjoys sharing her gift of playing the guitar with our congregation. Cheryl is a master gardener and loves the outdoors; she is an advocate for youth camp experiences, and tries to make a personal habit of camping at state parks at least monthly. She is an avid traveler, and recently enjoyed a visit to Sweden for a family wedding, and to Portugal and Spain to delve into the rich Christian history of that region. Cheryl earned a Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary.

Nancy became the Director of Music Ministries after being an active member of Heritage, describing the role as a blessing. A Sam Houston State alumna, she credits her music education for shaping her fulfilling career path. Nancy's professional background includes teaching music primarily in middle school settings, with experience in elementary and private schools following her public education retirement. Throughout her life, church music ministry has remained central to her identity, directing adult and children's choirs, as well as youth and adult handbell ensembles. Her lifelong dedication to church involvement was innocently captured by her preschool-aged son, who once described his mother's favorite activities as "wearing jewelry and going to church meetings."

Neena holds a Bachelor of Arts in Voice from the University of Texas–Pan American with post-graduate work at the University of Houston. During her 24-year career at Jersey Village High School, her choirs consistently earned Sweepstakes awards and Best in Class honors. She presented at Texas Choral Directors Association and conducted Region Clinics statewide. Her Varsity Women performed at the 2004 TMEA convention. Neena has directed church choirs and performed with Houston Symphony Chorus, Concert Chorale of Houston, and Houston Chamber Choir. She co-founded Casulana Women's Choir and works as a voice instructor and clinician. Her professional affiliations include TCDA, ACDA, TMAA, and TMEA.
